About
Hi, I’m Joe.
I make shows, and I’ve been doing it for more than fifteen years.
I came up in late night, on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and honestly I’ve been working with Craig ever since. I co-hosted and produced his SiriusXM show, worked on his stand-up specials and his tours and on Join or Die for History, and directed, wrote and executive produced Hobo Fabulous, which we went off and made ourselves.
In 2019 Netflix brought me in before their comedy channel on SiriusXM had even launched, and I’ve run Netflix Is A Joke Radio ever since. The flagship is What A Joke with Papa & Fortune, two hours a day, four days a week, and it’s past 1,200 episodes now. I’m the showrunner, so I’m in all of it: the booking, the guests, the run of show, production, post, and getting it out the door.
I also run Breaking Bread with Tom Papa, his weekly podcast, on audio and YouTube. Tom brought me in to grow the audience, so I do the show, the clips, and the numbers behind both. I’ll be honest, the numbers part scared me when I first moved into it, and now it’s the part I really love.
Along the way I’ve written for a Netflix special, worked on pilots for Sony and ABC, and produced NBC’s Red Nose Day. Before any of that I studied philosophy, at Cal State Northridge and then The New School. I live in Los Angeles.
I’ve worked with a lot of comedians.
I don't have my own social media, because my focus is on helping others make content.
You can hear me daily on What A Joke with Papa & Fortune, and I sometimes turn up in my friends' feeds.
